Saint Joseph's to Host Summer Camps & Clinics

STANDISH, Maine – Several sports camps will be taking place on the Saint Joseph’s College campus during the summer months.

BASEBALL

The Twinight Baseball Camp, the longest-running camp at Saint Joseph’s, will take place at Larry Mahaney Baseball Diamond, July 26-29. Run by renowned Head Coach Will Sanborn ’86, the Twinight clinic has been taking place for over 25 years and features the consistent emphasis of proper fundamentals designed to help players achieve success as they move on to higher levels of competition. The camp schedule includes drills and activities in the late afternoon and, following a nutritious meal in the SJC cafeteria, games played under the lights on the Monks’ baseball and softball diamonds. Meticulously designed to help pitchers reach their full potential, the Command Central itinerary promises to develop Command, Movement Pattern, Pitching Arsenal, Health and Mindset. REGISTER ONLINE

Saint Joseph’s will also host a Baseball Instructional Prospect Camp August 30th. TAKE FLIGHT ALL-SPORTS CAMP

The Take Flight Academy All-Sports Camp, which is organized by the Saint Joseph’s men’s basketball program and Head Coach Rob Sanicola ‘99, offers two sessions: August 3-7 and August 10-14. The All-Sports Camp is designed to provide children opportunity to experience a wide range of sports. Through games, competitions, and challenges geared to the individual ability levels, campers learn skills for multiple sports, gain self-confidence and acquire a love of sports to match their talents and interests. Counselors are selected with extreme care. They reflect outstanding teaching ability and the desire to help develop campers into good citizens. REGISTER ONLINE

MEN’S SOCCER

The Saint Joseph’s Men’s Soccer program will host an Elite Prospect Camp on Sunday, August 16th. The event offers prospective students a chance to tour the Standish campus, attend information sessions on the application process and financial aid, enjoy lunch and have the opportunity to learn more about one of the more than 40 majors and programs offered. Staffed by Head Coach Adrian Dubois, his assistant coaches, alumni and players, the camp will include instruction in warm-up, possession, and an inner squad scrimmage – all at the structured level of a college training session. Coach Dubois and his staff will also be holding High School Soccer Training Camps during the month of August. Custom designed to help your team improve in areas of need, the week-long camps will incorporate fitness (agility, aerobic, anaerobic), technical (aerial touches, passing, receiving, shooting) and tactical work to prepare your team physically and mentally. The camps can be held at any location most convenient for your families (high school field, town field, etc.). REGISTER ONLINE

ALSO OF NOTE

The High School Girls' Basketball Team Camp – hosted annually by long-time Women’s Basketball Head Coach Mike McDevitt ’83 - will not be held this summer due to the timing of our gym floor refinishing process. We look forward to hosting the camp again in the summer of 2016.
