With the addition of the 2014 class, which consists of Mary Gill Herrick ’02 (Women’s Soccer), Jamie Header ’93 (Men’s Basketball), Pat Lessard ’00 (Baseball), Joe and Joan Pappalardo (Special Induction) and Sarah Webster ’02 (Softball), the Athletics Hall of Fame membership grows to a total of 74 accomplished individuals and teams.

This year’s festivities included the unveiling of the newly constructed Hall of Fame Room, which is located on the second floor of the Harold Alfond Center adjacent to the Athletics Office. Formerly called the Alumni Lounge, the Room features beautiful woodwork, designed and constructed by Windham Millworks, individual plaques for each hall of fame inductee and memorabilia cases displaying various significant items from past athletic achievements.

The introduction of the Room included brief addresses from Athletics Director Brian Curtin and President Dr. James Dlugos and the invocation was delivered by alumna and 2001 Hall of Fame inductee Carol Lachance RSM ’84.

The Hall of Fame Room, which is open to the public, was made possible by numerous contributions from the friends and alumni of Saint Joseph’s College. A complete list of donors can be found on display in the room itself as well as online at the following link.

Following the reception and Room unveiling, all in attendance made their way to Pearson’s Café in Mercy Hall for the Induction Ceremony, where each of the 2014 inductees were officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame following a dinner prepared by the Pearson’s Café staff.

Founded in 2000, the Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame honors past athletes, faculty, staff and friends who, through their actions, have brought distinction through athletics to themselves and to Saint Joseph’s College. With the combination of the committee and members who have associations with the college and/or athletics department, the Saint Joseph’s College Hall of Fame has continued to make strides toward the future while honoring the past.
