Pratt Garners GNAC Player of the Week Accolade

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's sophomore first baseman Mike Pratt (Dartmouth, MA/Bishop Stang) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week.

Pratt hit .546 (6-11) in a 3-0 week for the Monks and went 3-5 with a run, an RBI and a double in an extra-inning win over 2010 NCAA DIII New England Regional champion UMass.-Boston on Wednesday. Pratt, currently riding a 10-game hitting streak, also went 2-4 with two runs, an RBI and a two-bagger in a 7-5 win over Husson on Thursday.

Through 16 games for the 9-7 Monks, Pratt leads the team in batting average (.453, 24-53), doubles (8) and slugging percentage (.604). He has reached base in 15 consecutive games and ranks second on the club with eight multiple-hit performances. Pratt also owns a stellar .991 fielding percentage with one miscue – a throwing error while playing third base - in 117 chances as the team's first baseman.

For Pratt, a three-time GNAC Rookie of the Week honoree last spring, the weekly conference top player honor is a career-first.

Saint Joseph's will host Lasell College in a GNAC doubleheader on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
