Keneborus & Lorenc Earn GNAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and two Saint Joseph's baseball players have received accolades for their efforts in a 5-1 week.

Senior right fielder Todd Keneborus (Hollis Center, ME/Cheverus) has been selected as the GNAC Player of the Week and freshman designated hitter Alex Lorenc (Nanuet, NY) has garnered Rookie of the Week honors.

Keneborus hit a scorching .636 (14-22) with seven runs, nine RBI, a 1.046 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage last week for Saint Joseph's. He went 6-8 with two runs, three RBI and a triple in a sweep over Emerson on Monday and was 2-4 with a double, home run and two RBI in a 12-inning loss to Southern Maine on Wednesday. The senior right fielder went 4-4 with three runs, three RBI and a home run in a win over Anna Maria on Friday.

Lorenc hit .400 (8-20) with four runs, three doubles and eight RBI in five games last week for the Monks. He drove in two runs in wins over Emerson and Norwich and was 3-4 with a run and three RBI in a win over Daniel Webster on Friday.

Through 36 games for the 25-11 Monks, Keneborus leads the team in batting average (.433, 52-120), runs (32), home runs (4), RBI (34), slugging percentage (.633) and on-base percentage (.503). He has garnered weekly honors twice this season and five times in his career.

Lorenc is enjoying a fine rookie campaign, hitting .300 (33-110) with 16 runs, 11 doubles and 25 RBI. He has appeared in 34 games with 30 starts and ranks second on the team in doubles this spring. The weekly top-rookie honor is the second of his career.

Saint Joseph's will host Norwich University in a single seven-inning game this afternoon at 4:00 PM. If the Monks come out on top they will secure the top seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament.
