Keneborus & Laverriere Gain National Honor Roll Accolades

STANDISH, ME – SJC Baseball players Todd Keneborus '11 (Hollis Center, ME/Cheverus) and Tyler Laverriere '13 (Biddeford, ME) have been listed on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Weekly Honor Roll.

Keneborus hit a scorching .636 (14-22) with seven runs, nine RBI, a 1.046 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage last week for Saint Joseph's. He went 6-8 with two runs, three RBI and a triple in a sweep over Emerson on Monday and was 2-4 with a double, home run and two RBI in a 12-inning loss to Southern Maine on Wednesday. The senior right fielder went 4-4 with three runs, three RBI and a home run in a win over Anna Maria on Friday. He also collected GNAC Player of the Week honors for his efforts.

Laverriere tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Norwich University on Saturday. The sophomore righthander threw just 50 pitches and did not walk a batter in the triumph. Two SJC errors prevented the effort from being a perfect game. Laverriere was also listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for his performance.

Through 38 games, Keneborus is hitting .425 (54-127) with 24 runs, nine doubles, two triples, four home runs and 37 RBI. He leads the team in hits, runs and RBI and became the fifth Monks player in program history to reach the 200-hit plateau with a single in a win over Gordon College on Monday.

Laverriere is 3-0 with 30 strikeouts and just seven walks in 27 innings this spring. Opponents have hit a measly .219 (23-105) against the lanky righthander this season.

Top-seeded Saint Joseph's (27-11, 12-2 GNAC) will face #2 Johnson & Wales on Saturday at Larry Mahaney Diamond in a GNAC Tournament tilt at 1:00 PM.
