Keneborus Selected to Play in NEIBA All-Star Game

STANDISH, ME – St. Joe's senior outfielder Todd Keneborus (Hollis, ME/Cheverus) has been selected to play in the 37th Annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star Game at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass. on Thursday, June 2nd at 7:00 PM.

Keneborus will be the sixth SJC player to participate in the prestigious event, following Steve Osborne '01, Derek McIntosh '05, Sam Tupper '07, Luke Enman '08 and Pat Moran'10. He is the lone Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) representative and, along with Southern Maine first baseman Mike Eaton (Sabattus, ME), is one of two participants to have played at a Maine college or university.

The game pits the top NCAA DI players against the elite DII selections and DIII seniors. Division I players from across the region will make up the University Division Team. These selections will be released later this week. The College Division Team is made up of 13 Division II standouts and 16 Division III senior all-stars.

As a senior, Keneborus hit .414 (65-157) with 38 runs, 11 doubles, three triples, 40 RBI and four stolen bases. He led the Monks in at bats (157), runs, hits, triples, home runs, RBI, total bases (97), slugging percentage (.618), walks (20), HBP (10) and OBP (.497) this spring.

As both a junior and senior, Keneborus garnered GNAC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-New England honors and collected D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-America accolades following his junior campaign.

He closed out his outstanding career batting .399 (213-534) with 141 runs, 40 doubles, 22 triples, 14 home runs, 150 RBI and 20 stolen bases. He is the Monks' all-time leader in triples and ranks fourth in hits, at bats (534), batting average, slugging (.635), OBP (.475), extra-base hits (76) and total bases (339).

St. Joe's won three GNAC Championships and made three NCAA DIII Baseball Tournament appearances over the past four seasons with Keneborus and fellow 2011 graduates Chris Campbell (Rochester, NH), Kevin Chamberlain (Scarborough, ME), Chris Dion (Lawrence, MA), Ian Lee (Hampden, ME) and Mason Roberge (Franklin, NH) on the roster.

With the help of this talented senior class, the Monks posted a 126-59 (.681) record since the beginning of the 2008 season.

LeLacheur Park is home of the Lowell Spinners, a minor league team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox. The gate will open at 6:00 pm and tickets will cost $5. For directions and other information, please visit the official website of the Lowell Spinners.
