Baseball Ranked 2nd in Region, 24th in Nation

STANDISH, ME - The Saint Joseph's College baseball team continues to receive respect from coaches and administrators around the New England region as well as the country.

With 20 points, the Monks are ranked second in the first New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Weekly Poll of the season, behind only Wheaton College, which received 24 points.

St. Joe's is ranked 24th in the country, according to ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll, a national ranking in which the Monks were listed 27th last week.

Other New England programs earning mention in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball rankings include Wheaton (#5), Eastern Connecticut (#12), and Tufts University (#26).

Saint Joseph's, 11-2 so far this spring, will travel to Husson University on Thursday for a single nine set to begin at 4:00 PM. The Monks will host UMass.-Boston in the team's 2012 home-opener at 3:00 PM on Friday.
