SJC Baseball Ranked 2nd in New England, 17th in Both National Polls

STANDISH, ME – The NCAA DIII weekly baseball polls have been released and Saint Joseph's College, 27-3 overall and 10-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play this spring, is ranked second in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) regional poll and 17th in both national rankings, the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball and D3baseball.com/NCBWA polls.

The Monks received 32 points and sit only behind Wheaton College (25-4), which received 39 points, in the fourth NEIBA New England DIII College Baseball Coaches Poll of the 2012 season. Trinity College (31 pts), Eastern Connecticut (28), Keene State (20), Salem State (14), Amherst (11) and Western New England (4) round out the top eight New England programs.

With 208 points, St. Joe's moves up four slots to the #17 position in the eighth D3baseball.com/NCBWA weekly poll of the season. Wheaton (477 pts) is ranked seventh in the country and Eastern Connecticut (358) is 10th, according to the organization's latest poll.

Saint Joseph's earned 118 points and is also ranked 17th in the fourth ABCA/Collegiate Baseball weekly rankings of the year. Wheaton (201 pts) sits in sixth, Eastern Connecticut State (121) is ranked 15th, Amherst (62) is 21st and Trinity (50) is 23rd.
