First NEIBA Poll Announced, Monks Ranked #1 in Region

STANDISH, ME - The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) has released the first poll of the 2013 season and Saint Joseph's College is the top-ranked DIII team in the region, according to a vote of New England NCAA DIII head coaches.

With two first-place votes and 29 total points, Saint Joseph's (7-2) sits atop a list that includes Wheaton College (24 points), Eastern Connecticut State University (21), Suffolk University (19), MIT (18), University of Southern Maine (17), Western New England University (6) and Amherst College (5).

Babson College, Bowdoin College and Plymouth State University also received votes in the first poll of the season.

Due to the recent weather, Saint Joseph's has not played since the Monks concluded their Spring Trip on March 15th. The schedule is about to become quite hectic however, as St. Joe's is set to travel to Endicott College on Wednesday and Husson University on Thursday before hosting Roger Williams University in a home-opener twinbill on Friday (1:00 PM) and Lasell College in a conference-opening two-game set on Saturday (12:00 PM).
