Laverriere Tabbed as GNAC Pitcher of the Week

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College junior righthander Tyler Laverriere (Biddeford, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Pitcher of the Week.

Laverriere tossed a complete-game three hitter with four strikeouts and zero walks in a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon. The senior right-hander also lowered his season ERA to a minuscule 0.32 mark with the impressive effort.

Through 26 games for Saint Joseph's, Laverriere owns a 2-2 record and 24 K's in a team-high 28 innings. Opponents are hitting just .175 (17-97) off him and the senior hurler has not allowed an earned run in his last 25.1 innings.

For Laverriere, the GNAC weekly accolade is a career-first. He is the third Saint Joseph's pitcher, joining senior Chad Rafferty (Keene, N.H.) and junior Nick Whittaker (Yarmouth, Maine), to be selected as the conference Pitcher of the Week this spring.

Saint Joseph's (14-8, 4-2 GNAC) is set to play at University of Southern Maine today at 4:00 PM.
