Monks Ranked Sixth in Region for Second Week in a Row

STANDISH, ME - The fourth New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Weekly Poll has been released and Saint Joseph's College is ranked sixth for the second-consecutive reporting period.

The Monks countered a rare four-game losing streak with six straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victories in the past week. Saint Joseph's swept GNAC twinbills with Norwich University, Suffolk University and Albertus Magnus College in the last six days and now sits atop the conference standings as a result.

As for the rest of the NEIBA Poll, University of Southern Maine is the top-ranked team with four first-place votes and 45 points overall while Wheaton College is second with a first-place nod and 43 total points. Western New England University (27 points), Eastern Connecticut State University (24), Amherst College (19), Suffolk University (19), Saint Joseph's (17) and MIT (10) round out this week's top eight.

Tufts University and Johnson & Wales University also received votes this week.

Saint Joseph's (20-9, 10-2 GNAC) will play at Colby College on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
