Monks Ranked Sixth in Final NEIBA Regional Poll

STANDISH, ME – The final New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) regional poll has been released and Saint Joseph's College is ranked sixth, according to a vote of head coaches across the region.

University of Southern Maine (42-8) came through the losers' bracket to claim the 2013 NCAA New England Regional Tournament Championship and has rightfully secured the top spot in the poll with five first-place votes and 40 total points. The Huskies will represent New England in the NCAA DIII World Series this week in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Endicott College (35-14), the 2013 New England Regional runner-up, is ranked second with 35 points while Wheaton College (26 points), Western New England University (23) and Amherst College (19) round out the top five vote-getters in the final poll of the 2013 campaign.

Eastern Connecticut State University (11) and Suffolk University (8) close out the poll in eighth and ninth, respectively, while Daniel Webster College, MIT, Salem State University, Johnson & Wales University and Wesleyan College also earned votes in the regional ranking.
