Coyne & Reuillard Garner ECAC All-New England Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Baseball All-Star Team has been released and two Saint Joseph's College players – senior catcher Joe Coyne (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior outfielder Taylor Reuillard (Biddeford, Maine) – have collected Second Team accolades. Representatives from ECAC Division III New England member institutions completed the voting.

Coyne, who earned Second Team All-New England honors from D3Baseball, ABCA/Rawlings and New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association several weeks ago, hit .404 (61-151) with 31 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, three homers, 36 RBI and six steals in 43 contests as a senior. The 2015 Conference Player of the Year honoree and four-time First Team All-GNAC selection led the Monks in doubles, home runs, slugging (.603) and OBP (.480) this spring.

For his career, Coyne hit .350 (219-626) with 114 runs, 52 doubles, five triples, nine home runs, 121 RBI and 13 steals over 178 contests as a four-year starter. He missed just one game over four seasons and capped his collegiate career as the Monks' all-time leader in games and at bats and is currently second in hits (219) and doubles (52), sixth in extra-base hits (66) and total bases (308), and eighth in RBI.

Coyne, who garnered 18 athletic or academic honors in four years at Saint Joseph's, recently signed a professional contract with the Old Orchard Beach Surge, which plays Independent ball in the North Country Baseball League.

Reuillard, who claimed First Team D3Baseball.com All-New England and Third Team All-Region honors from ABCA/Rawlings and NEIBA in May, led the Monks in at bats (164), runs, hits (66), sac bunts (9) and stolen bases (10) and was second on the team in batting (.402), doubles (15), RBI (29), slugging (.561) and OBP (.421) this spring. His 2015 hit total is tied for the fifth-most in the history of SJC baseball.

Through three seasons, Reuillard owns a .350 (128-366) batting average with 60 runs, 26 doubles, six triples, two homers, 57 RBI and 18 steals over 111 career contests.

Coyne and Reuillard are the eighth and ninth SJC players to earn ECAC All-New England accolades in the last nine seasons, as the duo joins Luke Enman '08, Pat Moran '10, Sam Murray '12, Todd Keneborus '11, Chad Rafferty '13, Tyler Laverriere '13 and Alex Lorenc '14 on the short list.

Saint Joseph's, the top seed in the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament, opened postseason play with a 7-0 defeat over Lasell College on April 23rd, but fell out of contention with losses to Suffolk University (the eventual conference champion) and Johnson & Wales University on April 25th. The loss to JWU snapped a five-year GNAC title streak and left the Monks outside of the NCAA DIII New England Regional Tournament for the first time since 2009 and just the second time since 2006.
