McCoomb Listed on D3Baseball.com Team of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The D3Baseball.com Team of the Week has been announced for the reporting period ending April 30th and Saint Joseph's College senior shortstop Max McCoomb (South Berwick, Maine) has been honored.

McCoomb returned from an injury in a big way, hitting .643 (9-for-14) with a 1.143 slugging percentage, six runs, two doubles, a triple, a home run, and eight RBI in four games. In his first start since suffering the injury, the senior shortstop went 4-4 with two runs, a triple, and four RBI in a lopsided victory over Norwich. He was also flawless in the field, handling 17 chances without a miscue.

In 25 games this spring, McCoomb is hitting .482 (40-83) with 35 runs, seven doubles, three triples, a home run, 28 RBI, and three stolen bases. He is sporting a .675 slugging percentage with a .537 OBP and, as one of the best defensive shortstops in New England, has made four errors in 79 chances for a .949 fielding percentage.

McCoomb is the fourth SJC player to earn D3Baseball.com Team of the Week honors this spring, as he joins senior third baseman Taylor Black (Cardiff by the Sea, Calif.), junior pitcher Josh Partridge (Deerfield, N.H.), and senior designated hitter Jameson Collins (Sandown, N.H.) on the list.

#16/18 Saint Joseph's (31-6, 13-1 GNAC) has earned the top seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament and will host #4 Johnson & Wales University in a second-round contest Thursday at 3:30 PM.
