STANDISH, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College baseball program will host the 16th Annual Hot Stove Auction on Saturday, January 11th at 1:30 PM in the SJC Dining Hall. Join alumni, parents, family, and friends for an afternoon of baseball banter and competitive bidding as the Monks prepare for the 2020 campaign! This event is free and open to all who have pre-registered!!
Head Coach Will Sanborn '86 will kick off the day with a brief preview of the season and introduction of the team and coaching staff. Many appealing auction items will be available for bidding, including tickets for sporting events, memorabilia, gift cards, gift baskets, vacation packages and much, much more. Also of note, recent graduates Jared Gagne '19 and Greg Emanuelson '19 have volunteered their time to serve as bartenders at the event's cash bar.
This year's event promises to be memorable, as Coach Sanborn will be making an exciting announcement in regard to a fundraising campaign for the rebuilding of Ward Park, Larry Mahaney Diamond, and Richard W. Bailey Field.
The Monks kick off the 2020 campaign with a 10-game slate in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational during the College's spring break, which begins on Saturday, February 29th.
All proceeds from the raffles, silent auction, and live auction will go towards the cost of the Monks' spring trip. Auction items are plentiful, and the list promises to be one of the most interesting to date!
In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the following afternoon at 12:00 PM in the SJC Dining Hall.
