Coach Sanborn tabbed Jim Cronin as an assistant coach during the summer of 2010.

Cronin comes to St. Joe’s after heading up the Scarborough High School nine for the past four years. During his time with the Red Storm, Cronin guided his team to four SMAA playoff appearances, including a trip to the Western Maine Championship game in 2009. In four seasons, Scarborough posted a 37-31 record under Coach Cronin, who was named SMAA Coach of the Year in 2010.

Also, the Red Storm accumulated 19 postseason honors, with three league batting champions and five First Team All-Conference honorees with Cronin as the team’s skipper.

Cronin earned a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley in 1987 and went on to secure his Master's Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1994. He is currently in his ninth year as a teacher at Scarborough Middle School.

Cronin resides in Scarborough with his wife Terry, son Joe and his dog Fungo.
