Sanborn, the son of Head Coach Will Sanborn '86, grew up with the SJC Baseball program and, after playing his freshman year at NCAA DI insitution St. John's University, returned to the Shores of Sebago where he served as a major contributor, both on the mound and in the field, for three seasons.

For his career, he hit .309 (64-207) with 49 runs, 15 doubles, and 36 RBI while sporting a 2.78 ERA with an 18-4 record and 140 strikeouts in 145.2 collegiate innings. Sanborn earned a trio of All-Conference accolades, including First Team acclaim in 2015, and also collected a pair of All-New England honors during his career.

A two-way player in his first season with the Monks, Sanborn suffered an elbow injury while pitching for the Futures League Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide and, after undergoing Tommy John surgery, missed the entire 2013 campaign. He returned in 2014, as a pitcher, and resumed his role as a pitcher/infielder in his final collegiate season, 2015.

In his first year with the Monks, the younger Sanborn served in a dual capacity as a frontline starting pitcher and primary third baseman. He hit .291 (25-86) with 20 runs, five doubles, and 14 RBI while going 7-0 with a 2.87 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 53.1 innings en route to earning Second Team All-GNAC, D3Baseball.com Third Team All-New England, and NCAA DIII New England Regional All-Tournament honors.

Working back into the fold after enduring a rigorous year-long rehab routine, Sanborn went 7-1 with a 2.15 ERA and 54 K's - with just 16 walks - in 58.2 innings in 2014.

In 2015, he posted a 4-3 record with a 3.74 ERA and 26 punchouts in 33.2 frames on the hill while batting .322 (39-121) with 29 runs, 10 doubles, two triples, a homer, 22 RBI and four steals as a middle-of-the-order bat for the Monks. After the season, Sanborn garnered First Team All-GNAC and D3Baseball.com Second Team All-New England honors.

A four-time GNAC All-Academic honoree, Sanborn graduated with a B.S. in Business and Sports Management and earned his Masters in Adult Education at Saint Joseph's. He currently lives in Standish with his wife, Jordynne.
