Arsenault Lifts Field Hockey Past Wheelock

Standish, ME - Led by a two-goal performance by FY Maria Arsenault (Berlin, NH), the Monks defeated visiting Wheelock College 4-1 on Sunday.

SO Jessica Baker (Scarborough, ME) connected off a pass from SO Kerrie Boutin (Georgetown, MA) on a penalty corner just 1:12 into the match to give St. Joe's a 1-0 lead.

Arsenault tallied her first goal at 9:47 after a pass from FY Kayla Nowell (Bridgton, ME) and followed it up with her second at 20:17 to give the Monks a 3-0 advantage.

Wheelock's Jill Chaffee found the back of the net in the final minutes of the half to close the gap to 3-1.

FY Alyssa Dunn (Standish, ME) recorded her first intercollegiate goal at 53:59 to seal the victory for St. Joe's.

The Monks return to action on Tuesday, October 9th for a 4:00 PM contest at Regis College.
