INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The NCAA Division III Field Hockey Committee has released the top teams ranked in each region for the third Division III Field Hockey Poll of the 2009 season and Saint Joseph's College is the top-ranked team in the New England East Region for the second straight week.
The Monks, 14-4 overall (14-3 against region opponents) and 7-0 in North Atlantic Conference play this fall, suffered a gut-wrenching loss, 2-1 after a stroke-off, to Husson in the NAC Semifinals on Wednesday.
Nichols (16-3) is ranked second, followed by Endicott (11-7), Wellesley (12-7) and University of New England (13-2).
