Nowell Earns Weekly NAC Honor

STANDISH, ME – The North Atlantic Conference has tabbed Saint Joseph's senior forward Kayla Nowell (Bridgton, ME) as its Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Nowell netted the game-winning goal in the Monks' season-opening 2-0 victory over Framingham State on Thursday, September 2nd. With the tally, the senior forward tied the SJC program record for career game-clinching goals (10).

With one game down in her senior season, Nowell ranks second in program history in career goals (45), assists (26) and points (116) and is the team's all-time leader in shots (271).

For Nowell, a two-time First Team All-NAC selection, the conference weekly honor is the third of her career.

St. Joe's will face off against NAC opponent Lasell College on Saturday, September 11th at 1:00 PM in the Monks' 2010 home-opener.
