MIDDLETOWN, RI – Saint Joseph's improved to 8-3 overall with a 4-0 triumph over Salve Regina (2-11) in non-conference field hockey action on Monday afternoon. Courtney Rague '11 (Old Orchard Beach, ME) tallied a goal and an assist for the Monks.

Rague, who has notched at least a point in seven of the Monks' eight victories this fall, kicked off the game scoring 4:19 into the game with her sixth goal of the year and assisted on an Alyssa Dunn '11 (Standish, ME) marker 14 minutes later. For Dunn, the goal was the first since her sophomore season.

Sarah Bartell '12 (Exeter, NH) registered her sixth goal of the season in the 64th minute and Olivia Tourangeau '11 (Old Orchard Beach, ME/McAuley) found the back of the cage with 47 seconds remaining in the game to cap the afternoon scoring.

SJC keeper Meaghan Johnson '12 (Portland, ME/Cheverus) was not tested in what was the 34th victory of her career. Seahawks netminder Natalie Balletta '12 (Leominster, MA) made six stops in the losing effort.

With the win, Saint Joseph's improves to 3-1 against Salve Regina in the history of the series.

St. Joe's will host Salem State in a non-conference game on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
