Seven Field Hockey Players Collect Academic Honor

STANDISH, ME – Seven members of the Saint Joseph's College field hockey team have received 2010 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) NCAA DIII National Academic Squad honors.

Sarah Bartell '12 (Exeter, NY), Alyssa Dunn '11 (Standish, ME), Kayla Libby '14 (Exeter, ME), Christina Maiorino '14 (Windham, ME), Rachelle Messuri '14 (Atkinson, NH), Courtney Rague '11 (Old Orchard Beach, ME), and Ashley Walukevich '12 (Kingston, NH) all posted at least a 3.30 grade-point average during the 2010 fall semester.

Dunn, a two-sport (softball) standout at St. Joe's, is a three- time honoree, while Rague and Walukevich have now garnered the national academic honor twice during their career.

Saint Joseph's, with a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 last semester, earned the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Academic Team Award for the fifth time in six years under the guidance of Head Coach Rupert Lewis.
