NEWTON, MA – Saint Joseph's (9-3, 7-0 NAC) blanked Lasell College (3-11, 1-7 NAC), 4-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey match on Saturday afternoon. Four different players, all seniors, scored for the Monks in the one-sided contest.

All four of the SJC goals were netted in the second half with Sarah Bartell '12 (Exeter, N.H.) opening the scoring with her fifth marker of the year off a Rachelle Messuri '14 (Atkinson, N.H.) feed at the 36:58 mark.

Less than 11 minutes later Monks senior midfielder Amanda Sebastiao (Uxbridge, Mass.) made it a 2-0 game with her third goal of the season. Melanie Allen '13 (Jackson, N.H.) set up the score with a cross pass and was credited with an assist on the play.

Senior defender Renee Leach (Springvale, Maine) extended the Monks' advantage with an unassisted tally, her third goal of the season, at the 55:38 mark.

Olivia Tourangeau (Old Orchard Beach, Maine/McAuley) continued the trend for the SJC senior class with her first goal of the season just 1:25 before the final buzzer rang. TJ Cowin '14 (Newry, Maine) was credited with an assist on the game-closing goal.

Saint Joseph's held commanding advantages in both shots (19-1) and corners (14-2) in the conference triumph. Lasers keeper Christine Thornton '12 (Canton, Mass.) posted nine saves in a losing effort while SJC netminder Meaghan Johnson '12 (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) was not tested in what was the team's third shutout of the season.

With the victory, St. Joe's improves to 10-2 in the history of the series with Lasell. The Monks have now defeated the Lasers in six consecutive meetings dating back to the 2006 season.

Saint Joseph's will play at Colby College in a non-conference match on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Lasell does not play until next Saturday when the Lasers play at Simmons College in a NAC matchup slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
