STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College freshman forward Peyton Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) has been chosen as the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.
Dostie tallied a goal and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Monks and netted a goal and a helper in a 3-1 NAC Quarterfinal victory over Simmons College on Saturday. The weekly conference accolade is the first of her young career.
As of October 31st, she ranks third on the squad with 17 points with five goals and a team-high seven assists. Her current point total is the most amassed by an SJC freshman since Kayla Nowell '11 and Courtney Rague '11 both tallied 18 as first-year players in 2007.
Saint Joseph's (12-5, 8-1 NAC), the #2 seed in the conference tourney, will host #3 New England College (11-8, 7-2 NAC) in a NAC Tournament Semifinal match. Opening faceoff is slated for 2:00 PM at Lakeside Field.
