Messuri and Celata Claim NAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's has swept the first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey weekly honors of the 2012 campaign.

Junior forward Rachelle Messuri (Atkinson, N.H.) has been selected as the NAC Player of the Week and freshman forward Amanda Celata (Dedham, Mass.) has garnered NAC Rookie of Week accolades.

Messuri leads the Monks with three goals through three games this fall and netted a pair of markers in a win over Eastern Connecticut on September 1st. The weekly accolade is the first of her collegiate career.

Celata has appeared in all three wins for Saint Joseph's this season and came up big in the most recent contest. The freshman forward netted both goals for the Monks in a 2-0 home win over Anna Maria College on Sunday afternoon.

Saint Joseph's will play at University of New England on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
