Messuri and Hendrix Earn NAC Academic Accolades

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's field hockey juniors Rachelle Messuri (Atkinson, N.H.) and Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) have earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Academic honors.

Ninety-three student-athletes who participated in a fall conference sport received recognition. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have competed a minimum two years of varsity competition at their institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.

For Messuri, a Marketing major and 2012 Second Team All-NAC selection, the award is the third academic honor of her collegiate career. The third-year player also claimed National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic accolades for her efforts in the classroom following her freshman and sophomore seasons.

For Hendrix, a three-sport athlete who also plays softball and basketball at Saint Joseph's, the academic honor is the second of her athletic career. An ECAC First Team All-New England and First Team All-GNAC selection as a softball standout last spring, Hendrix also collected GNAC All-Academic accolades following her sophomore campaign.
