Messuri & Drew Claim Second Team All-Region Honors

STANDISH, ME – The 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region Teams have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.

Senior forward Rachelle Messuri (Atkinson, N.H.) and junior forward Effie Drew (Portland, Maine) have both collected Second Team All-New England East Region honors.

Messuri, a two-time All-Conference honoree, collects All-Region acclaim after recording seven goals and seven assists for 21 total points during her senior season. She concluded her collegiate career with 21 goals and 19 assists over 74 contests.

A 2013 First Team All-Conference selection, Drew led the Monks in goals (10) and points (23) this fall en route to securing the first regional honor of her career.

Saint Joseph's went 15-4 overall and 7-2 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play under the watch of ninth-year Head Coach Rupert Lewis during the 2013 campaign. The Monks earned the #2 seed in the NAC Tournament and, with wins over Lasell College and Husson University, advanced to the conference championship where the Royal Blue suffered a 3-1 setback at the hands of top-seeded Castleton State College on November 9th.
