Hendrix Named GNAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior midfielder Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has been tabbed as the GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Hendrix led the Monks to a 3-0 week with two goals and three assists for seven total points. The senior assisted on a pair of goals in a 4-0 win over Salem State on Tuesday, was credited with a helper on the team's lone goal in a 1-0 victory over in-state rival Southern Maine on Thursday, and scored both goals in a 2-0 triumph over GNAC-rival Lasell on Saturday.

Hendrix has scored four goals with six assists for 14 total points through seven contests so far this season. She leads the team in assists and ranks second on the squad in points.

For Hendrix, the field hockey weekly honor is the first of her career and also counts as the first GNAC weekly accolade earned by a Saint Joseph's player in the history of the field hockey program. The Monks, who played in the North Atlantic Conference for the last six years (2008-13), joined the GNAC this fall.

Saint Joseph's (6-1, 2-0 GNAC) plays at Anna Maria College this Saturday at 6:00 PM.
