Hendrix Named ECAC DIII New England Co-Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's senior midfielder Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has earned ECAC DIII New England Offensive Co-Player of the Week.

Hendrix shares the regional weekly award with former high school teammate Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine/Cheverus), a senior forward for Endicott College who totaled four goals and two assists for 10 points last week.

Hendrix, who also garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week acclaim for the same reporting period, netted a pair of goals with three assists for seven total points during a 3-0 week for the Monks. She was credited with two assists in a 4-0 triumph over Salem State University on Tuesday and potted the team's only marker in a 1-0 victory over University of Southern Maine on Thursday. She closed out the week by scoring both of the Monks' goals in a 2-0 win against Lasell College on Saturday.

Hendrix has scored four goals with six assists for 14 total points through seven contests so far this season. She leads the team in assists and ranks second on the squad in points. The ECAC weekly honor is the first of her career and just the third for an SJC field hockey player, as she joins former teammates TJ Cowin and Meaghan Johnson '12 on the short list.

Saint Joseph's (6-1, 2-0 GNAC) plays at Anna Maria College this Saturday at 6:00 PM.
