Seven Stickers Earn National Academic Honor

STANDISH, Maine - The 2014 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad has been released and seven Saint Joseph's College players have been honored for their efforts in the classroom.

Seniors Effie Drew (Portland, Maine) and Emily Jordan (Whitefield, Maine), sophomores Kelsey Dumond (Lewiston, Maine) and Mikaela Gove (Scarborough, Maine), and freshmen Emily Manning (Charlestown, R.I.), Hayley Winslow (Falmouth, Maine) and Autumn Zubricki (Gloucester, Mass.) have received Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honors.

In order to receive a Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad award, players must post a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.

In addition Zubricki, a Special Education major at Saint Joseph's, earned Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction accolades after recording a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.

Under the watch of 10th-year Head Coach Rupert Lewis, Saint Joseph's went 14-3 overall and 6-0 in GNAC play en route to earning the top seed in the 2014 GNAC Tournament. With a bye in the quarterfinal round, the Monks faced #4 Anna Maria College in a semifinal matchup at Mercy Field on November 5th and suffered a season-ending 1-0 loss at the hands of the AMCATS.
