Pomerleau Chosen as GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Josephs' College freshman Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Corvais Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Pomerleau enjoyed a tremendous week with four goals and an assist in a 2-1 week. The freshman forward played a hand in five of the Monks' six goals with two markers and a helper in a 4-2 victory over Springfield on Tuesday and both tallies in a 2-1 overtime victory over Lasell on Friday.

Through seven games for the 3-4 Monks, Pomerleau ranks as the team-leader in goals (6) and points (13) and has netted the game-winner in all three of the SJC victories thus far this fall. The weekly conference honor is the first of her collegiate career.

Saint Joseph's will host Husson University this Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
