UNION, N.J. - #20 Kean University (7-0) defeated Saint Joseph's College (2-3), 6-0, in a non-conference field hockey contest on Sunday.

Kean, which now has six shutouts in seven games so far this fall, controlled the offense throughout, allowing just two second half shots on the day. The Cougars led 27-2 in shots overall and 18-1 in penalty corner opportunities.

Jenna Patrone scored the game-winner six minutes into the contest on a one-timer. The score would remain that way for the next 15 minutes before two quick goals from Krista LaMaina then Shauna LaMaina. The combo paired for the game's second goal and Shauna LaMaina tallied an unassisted marker 41 seconds later for a 3-0 advantage.

Teresa Carr fired a feed from Shauna LaMaina in the 29th minute and Shana LaMaina closed out the half with an unassisted tally for the 4-0 first half lead.

Shauna LaMaina rounded out the scoring with a penalty stroke goal in the final minute for the final.

Bailee Mullen made one save on the day. In total, Shauna LaMaina netted a hat trick and added two assists.

Saint Joseph's split time in the cage, with junior Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) making three saves in the first half and sophomore Kaylin Mansir (Gardiner, Maine) posting a pair of stops in the second stanza.

The Monks are now 1-5 in the history of the series with Kean University.

Saint Joseph's will host Springfield College Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
