Pomerleau & Winslow Listed on All-Region Teams

STANDISH, Maine – The Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Region squads have been announced and a pair of Saint Joseph's College players have earned accolades.

Sophomore forward Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) has collected New England East First Team honors while senior defender Hayley Winslow (Falmouth, Maine) is listed on the Second Team. The regional honor is a career first for both players.

Pomerleau, the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Year and two-time First Team All-GNAC selection, earns regional acclaim after netting 22 goals with five assists for 49 total points this season. She broke the SJC single-season goals record and her point tally is second only to Kayla Nowell's 57-point effort in 2008. In two seasons, Pomerleau has already registered 38 goals and 15 assists for 91 total points with a program-record 16 game-winning goals in 42 games.

Winslow, the 2017 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year and two-time First Team All-GNAC honoree, collects Longstreth/NFHCA New England East Region Second Team honors after netting six goals and two assists for 14 total points with three game-winners – all career-highs – during her senior season. The two-year team captain also spearheaded a defense that allowed 20 goals in 21 games with a 0.92 goals against average.

Under the watch of 13th-year Head Coach Rupert Lewis this fall, Saint Joseph's went 15-6 overall with a 6-1 GNAC record en route to winning the GNAC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second-consecutive season. St. Joe's faced #19 University of New England in the opening round of the NCAA tourney and led 1-0 early in the second half, but the Nor'easters netted a pair of goals late to end the Monks' campaign.
