Nine Monks Garner National Academic Honor

STANDISH, Maine - The 2017 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad has been released and nine Joseph's College players have been honored for their efforts in the classroom.

Seniors Elyse Caiazzo (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) and Hayley Winslow (Falmouth, Maine), juniors Arianna Kahler (Lisbon Falls, Maine), Kayla Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine) and Kayla Kelly (York, Maine), sophomore Kylee Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine), and freshmen Alexis Charles (Fryeburg, Maine), Erika Hannigan (Lewiston, Maine), and Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.) have earned academic accolades from the national organization.

In addition, Kylee Veilleux and Alexandria Simpson have earned Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction accolades after recording a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. 242 student-athletes representing 105 schools have been Scholars of Distinction honors.

The Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad includes all student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Over 1,700 student-athletes representing 149 institutions have earned the honor.
