Baker Selected to Play in Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game

GILBERT, Ariz. - Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game roster has been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior goalkeeper Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) is one of 60 players from around the country to receive an invitation to participate in the annual exhibition contest.

The 2018 Division III Senior Game will take place in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship in Manheim, Pennsylvania — the Senior Game is currently set for 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex.

Baker, a two-time All-Conference honoree, is in the midst of one of the finest seasons ever recorded by an SJC goalkeeper, as the senior captain currently ranks second in the nation in save percentage (.881) and third in goals against average (0.40). In 15 starts this fall, Baker has tallied a 14-1 record with seven shutouts while allowing five goals with 37 saves in 885 minutes.

The four-year starter is the Monks' all-time leader in career shutouts (28) and goals against average (0.87) and is second in victories (51). Among all active NCAA DIII goalkeepers, Baker ranks second in shutout percentage (.393), fourth in wins and goals against average, seventh in minutes (4,076), and 18th in save percentage (.784).

Baker is the second player in SJC field hockey history to earn an invitation to the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game. She joins former standout goalkeeper Meghan Johnson '12, who was selected to play in the 2011 exhibition after posting numbers that helped her become the first All-American in team history.

Annually, the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game features top senior players in the nation — selected seniors are given the opportunity to represent their institution while competing against their peers.

The 60 seniors selected to participate, as well as a selection of alternates, are listed in alphabetical order. Alternates will take the spot of student-athletes who have been selected as participants but are unable to compete in the Division III Senior Game.

Selected student-athletes will receive more detailed information from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association via email. Information will also be available on the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Senior Game event page.
