Baker Tabbed as GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) has earned her third GNAC Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season.

Baker posted a 0.50 goals-against average with a .923 save percentage after stopping 12 of the 13 shots she faced in a 2-0 week for the Monks. The senior keeper made seven saves in a 3-0 win at Rivier on Tuesday and turned away five shots in a hard fought 2-1 win at UMaine-Farmington on Saturday.

As of October 23rd, Baker leads the conference in goals-against average (0.48), save percentage (.877), shutouts (7), and fewest goals allowed (7). For her career, she has a 54-18 record with a 0.87 goals-against average, a .788 save percentage, and 28 shutouts in 75 games over four seasons. Among active NCAA DIII goalkeepers, Baker ranks second in shutouts, fourth in goals-against average and victories, seventh in minutes (4,006), and 17th in save percentage.

The GNAC weekly honor is the eighth of her collegiate career.

Saint Joseph's (16-1, 6-0 GNAC) will host Lasell College (13-5, 6-0 GNAC) on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
