STANDISH, Maine - The 2018 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad has been released and 10 Joseph's College players have been honored for their efforts in the classroom.
Seniors Arianna Kahler (Lisbon Falls, Maine), Kayla Kelly (York, Maine), and Kayla Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine), junior Kylee Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine), sophomores Alexis Charles (Fryeburg, Maine) and Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.), and freshmen Izzy Anton (Mount Vernon, N.H.), Alexis Beardsley (Livermore, Maine), Olivia Esposito (North Reading, Mass.), and Valerie Neuhausser (Burlington, Conn.) have earned academic accolades from the national organization.
In addition, Kylee Veilleux has earned Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction honors for the second-consecutive year. In order to claim the high honor, a player must boast a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year. A total of 268 student-athletes have earned Scholars of Distinction honors.
The Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad includes all student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year. Over 1,700 student-athletes representing 147 institutions have earned the honor.
