GILBERT, Ariz. – The 2019 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game roster has been released and Saint Joseph's College senior forward Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) is one of 60 players from around the country to receive an invitation to participate in the annual exhibition contest.
The Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game is currently projected for 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pennsylvania following the completion of the NCAA Division III semifinal games.
Perhaps the most accomplished and decorated player in program history, Pomerleau is a two-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year selection and three-time First Team All-GNAC honoree. She has also garnered three GNAC Tournament MVP accolades and was chosen as the 2016 GNAC Rookie of the Year.
The four-year standout entered her senior season as the Monks' career leader in goals (58) and game-winning goals (21) and in 2017 set the SJC single-season goals record with 22 tallies. She helped lead the Monks to GNAC Championships – and subsequent NCAA Tournament berths - in each of her three years.
Earlier this season, Pomerleau claimed the Monks' career points record after tallying two goals and two assists in a victory over Albertus Magnus College on September 21st. In 78 career games, she has scored 63 goals – including 22 game-winners - with 26 assists for 152 points.
Pomerleau is the third Saint Joseph's player – and first field player - to be chosen to play in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game. Goalkeepers Megan Baker '19 and Meaghan Johnson '12 were also selected to participate in the annual exhibition contest following their respective senior seasons.
She is one of two GNAC players – Lasell's Samantha Taylor is the other – to be named to the roster and joins five others from Maine institutions - Georgia Cassidy (Colby), Kelci Faulkingham (Thomas), Grace Fitzgerald (Bates), and Kendra MacDonald (UNE) – on this year's squad.
Annually, the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game features top senior players in the nation — selected seniors are given the opportunity to represent their institution while competing against their peers.
The 60 seniors selected to participate, as well as a selection of alternates, are listed in alphabetical order. Alternates will take the spot of student-athletes who have been selected as participants but are unable to compete in the Division III Senior Game.
Selected student-athletes will receive more detailed information from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association via email. Information will also be available on the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Senior Game event page.
