Rutledge Earns GNAC Player of the Week Award

STANDISH, Maine - The October 18th Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Rutledge tallied six goals and two assists for 14 total points in a pair of lopsided conference victories last week. The senior scored a goal and added two assists in a 10-0 win at Dean on Wednesday and broke the Monks' single-game goals and points records with five goals (10 points) in a 12-0 triumph over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Through 14 games this fall, Rutledge has tallied 16 goals and eight assists for 40 total points. The 2019 GNAC Player of the Year currently ranks second in the conference in assists, points, and game-winners (3) and is third in goals scored.

In 58 career games, Rutledge has scored 48 goals with 31 assists for 127 points. She currently ranks third in team history in goals, assists, and game-winners (10) and is fourth all-time in points. Surprisingly, the Player of the Week honor is a career-first for Rutledge.

Saint Joseph's will host Simmons University on Wednesday in a GNAC matchup slated to start at 6:00 PM.
