GNAC Four-Peat for Caron

GNAC Four-Peat for Caron

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Golfer of the Week for the fourth-consecutive reporting period.

Caron shot an even-par 72 in the 12th Annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament last Tuesday to lead all participants and collect his second consecutive medalist award. Caron finished as the top individual in last year's Queenan Tournament and is first player in tourney history to claim back-to-back medalist accolades in the event. His score in the tourney, which is hosted by Saint Joseph's, counts as the best since the 2007 Queenan invite.

In six events this fall, Caron has recorded three top finishes along with third, fourth and seventh-place efforts. The sophomore standout has played in eight total rounds with a 73.6 average and owns a 149 mean in 36-hole events so far this season.

Saint Joseph's will play in the University of New England Invitational at Cape Arundel Golf Club on Wednesday.
