Monks Capture Fourth-Consecutive Tournament Championship

WATERVILLE, Maine – Sophomore Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) claimed Co-Medalist honors to help Saint Joseph's College win the Thomas College Invitational on a blustery Sunday at Waterville Country Club. The Monks posted a 303-team card en route to pacing the six-team field and claiming their fourth-consecutive championship and fifth overall this season.

Hachey shared his first collegiate Medalist finish with Southern Maine senior Tom Murray (Bangor, Maine) while sophomore Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) was tied for fourth with a 75 card. Senior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) and junior Brandon Labrecque (Gorham, Maine) both shot a 78 and tied for ninth and freshman Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) shot an 87.

University of Maine-Farmington finished as the runner-up with a 308, University of New England was third with a 311, and Southern Maine placed third with a 316. Colby College (320) and Thomas (381) rounded out the field of competing institutions.

Saint Joseph's returns to the links next Friday when the team plays in the Southern Maine Cup, which features a Ryder Cup format, at the Gorham Country Club.
