Saint Joseph's Competes in Southern Maine Cup, Places Third

GORHAM, Maine -- Led by the pairing of senior Joseph Francoeur (Windham, Maine) and junior Grayson Waterman (Berwick, Maine), the University of Southern Maine golf team captured the 2016 Southern Maine Cup played Friday at Gorham CC.

The uniquely formatted 18-hole event consists of six holes better ball, six holes of scramble and six holes of alternate shot.

Saint Joseph's placed third with a 219 team card as Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) and Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) paced the Royal Blue with a 71 pairing score. Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) and Brandon Labrecque (Gorham, Maine) posted a 72 and the pairing of Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) and Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) shot a 76.
