Monks Place 11th in NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The 82nd Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship is in the books and Saint Joseph's College finished in a tie for 11th among NCAA DIII participants with a 654 (330-324) team card.

SAINT JOSEPH'S SCORECARD:

  • Sophomore Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) finished tied for 21st with a 159 (81-78) card
  • Sophomore Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) and senior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) tied for 24th with 160 cards (82-78 & 79-81)
  • Junior Brandon Labrecque (Gorham, Maine) shot a 175 (88-87) and placed 89th
  • Sophomore Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) carded a 180 (90-90) and finished 92nd

TEAM SCOREBOARD:

  1. Babson College – 617 (311-306)
  2. Husson University – 624 (311-313)
  3. Nichols College – 633 (307-326)
  4. Tufts University – 635 (324-311)
  5. Western New England – 635 (318-317)

INDIVIDUAL SCOREBOARD:

  1. Zachary Temple, Castleton State – 148 (73-75)
  2. Chris Bornhorst, Babson – 148 (75-73)
  3. Owen Elliott, Tufts – 149 (76-73)
  4. Daulton Wickenden, Husson – 149 (76-73)
  5. Athan Goulas, Endicott – 151 (75-76)
 

The NEIGA Championship concludes the fall portion of the 2016-17 SJC golf schedule. Saint Joseph's, the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champions, will release the 2017 spring schedule – which will conclude with an appearance in the NCAA DIII National Championship in May - as soon as it is available.
