Monks Finish Seventh in MEIGA Championship

BANGOR, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed in the Maine Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course over the weekend and finished sixth with a 621 (319-302) team card.

Husson University claimed the championship for the 12th time in the last 19 seasons with a 574 (296-278) card, the lowest team score since the tournament adopted a 36-hole format in 2006.

Husson's Gavin Dugas took home medalist honors, for the second-consecutive season, with a four under-par 138 (71-67) card.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Senior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) finished in a tie for 12th with a 149 (74-75) card
  • Junior Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) shot an even-par 71 on day two and tied for 15th with a 151 (80-71) score
  • Senior Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) also shot a 71 today and tied for 19th with a 153 (82-71) score
  • Junior Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) was 49th with a 168 (83-85) card

NEXT!

Saint Joseph's will compete in the UMaine-Farmington Invitational next Saturday.
