Monks Finish Fifth at UNE Invitational

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine – Saint Joseph's College placed fifth with a 320 team card in the University of New England Invitational, which was played at the Cape Arundel Golf Club on Thursday.

Saint Joseph's senior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) finished in a tie for third overall with a 73 card after shooting a 35 on the back nine.

University of Southern Maine won the event with a 298 score, seven strokes ahead of the host Nor'easters. UMaine-Farmington (312), Endicott College (315), and Maine Maritime Academy (340) also competed in the annual event.

Southern Maine's Greg Kalagias claimed medalist honors with a two-over-par 71 score.

For the Monks, senior Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) shot an 81, junior Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) posted an 82, junior Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) carded an 84, and junior Sean Peschier (Watertown, Mass.) notched an 86.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the USM Cup at the Gorham Country Club on Friday.
