Saint Joseph's Finishes Fourth at USM Fall Classic

GORHAM, Maine – Saint Joseph's College wrapped up the 36-hole USM Fall Classic in fourth place with a 619 (317-302) team card at the Gorham Country Club on Monday afternoon.

University of Southern Maine won the event with a 607 (310-297) score and Tom Dunleavy of Bowdoin College claimed Medalist honors with a 147 (73-74) card.

After closing out the first 18 holes in sixth place with a 317 card, the Monks managed to shave 15 strokes off their team card with a 302 score on Monday as senior Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) cut seven strokes and junior Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) knocked six strokes off his Sunday card to help Saint Joseph's post the second-lowest 18-hole score in the tournament.

Senior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) led the Monks and finished in tie for second overall with a 148 (74-74) score and Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) tied for fifth with a 150 (76-74). Batchelder tied for 18th (157, 82-75), Donovan finished in a tie for 27th (164, 85-79), and junior Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) tied for 33rd (169, 87-82).

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at the Blackstone Country Club in Sutton, Massachusetts this weekend.
