Monks Place 10th in Bowdoin College Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College finished 10th with a 650 (325-325) team score in the two-day Bowdoin College Invitational at the Brunswick Golf Club this weekend.

RECAP:

Nichols College claimed the team title with a 623 (314-309) card and Husson University's Eric Dugas earned Medalist honors with a 150 (78-72) score. Nichols featured two of the top seven finishers overall, including Colby Mitchell who narrowly missed top honors with a 153 (75-78) card.

Husson finished second (631, 328-303), Southern Maine was third (632, 319-313), Providence College placed fourth (635, 317-318), and Bowdoin rounded out the top five teams with a 638 (317-321) score.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Freshman Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine), who finished the opening 18 holes on Saturday with an 83, shaved 11 strokes off his first day performance for an even-par 72 – tied with Dugas for the lowest round of the tourney – and a 155 composite card, which was tied for fourth overall
  • Senior Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) finished tied for 10th with a 157 (74-83) score
  • Freshman Cody Rizzo (West Gardiner, Maine) placed 43rd (166, 81-85)
  • First-year Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) shot a 172 (87-85) and finished tied for 57th
  • Senior Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) tied for 71st (186, 93-93)

NEXT!

The Monks are off until Tuesday, September 17th when the team travels to Waterville to play in the 18-hole Thomas College Invitational.
