SJC Golfers Finish Fifth at UNE Invitational

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine – Saint Joseph's College placed fifth with a 326 team score in the University of New England Invitational at the Cape Arundel Golf Club on Wednesday.

Southern Maine won the event with a 298 card as all five USM players shot a 77 or lower, including Medalist Greg Kalagias, who carded a 72 on the day.

For the Monks, freshman Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) led the way with a 79 card while first-year Cody Rizzo (West Gardiner, Maine) shot an even 80, senior Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) posted an 82, freshman Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) added an 85, and junior Brian Maguire (Braintree, Mass.) posted a 92.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Southern Maine Cup – which features a scramble format - at the Gorham Country Club on Friday.
