Cosentino Tabbed to Lead Fledgling Alpine Ski Programs at Saint Joseph’s

STANDISH, Maine – Senior Director of Athletics Brian Curtin is pleased to announce the hiring of Margot Adams Cosentino as the head coach of the Saint Joseph's College men's and women's alpine skiing programs.

Cosentino becomes the first ski coach at Saint Joseph's after serving as the head coach of the Saint Anselm College men's and women's skiing programs for the last two years.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the staff at Saint Joseph's College and grateful for the chance to build a new varsity ski program," says Cosentino. "I feel this institution has much to offer the student athletes and the location on Sebago Lake is ideal for attracting high level ski racers. I'd like to thank Mr. Curtin for this opportunity. I'm excited to get started!"

Revealed as the Monks' newest varsity sports earlier this summer, the men's and women's ski teams will compete as club programs this winter before transitioning to varsity status in time for the 2019-20 campaign.

Coach Cosentino helped lead the Saint Anselm program to new heights during her two-year stint, as the Hawks' men's team posted a program-best fifth-place finish in the 2017 United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships and the women's team finished in a tie for sixth in the 2018 championship. Over her two years, three individuals garnered USCSA All-America accolades.

Prior to her time at Saint Anselm, Cosentino served as the varsity ski coach at Timberlane Regional High School for six years (2010-16) and guided the boys' squad to a third-place finish at the 2016 State Championships.

"Margot is an excellent addition to our staff," adds Curtin. "She brings the skills, the experience and the demeanor to help us with the construction of our new Alpine program."

A 2008 graduate of Saint Michael's College with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a minor in business administration, Cosentino was a member of the Purple Knights' ski team for two seasons. After graduation, she went on to earn a Master of Education from Southern New Hampshire University in 2011.
