Monks Compete at Sunday River

NEWRY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's alpine ski teams competed in a giant slalom event at Sunday River on Saturday.

For the men, freshman Burke Cornish (Windham, Maine) placed 25th overall after posting a 2:01.13 total time. Burke notched a 1:02.54 effort on the first run and a 58.59 time on the second run. Senior Eryk Bean (Londonderry, N.H.) also competed but did not finish either run.

For the women, senior Lexzi Summers (West Stockbridge, Mass.) finished 20th with a 2:01.55 (1:03.34 – 58.21) cumulative time and freshman Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) was 22nd with a 2:12.25 (1:08.28 – 1:03.97) total time.

The Monks will compete at Shawnee Peak at 10:00 AM tomorrow.
